Sardinia
In August EVENTÔIR went on an inspiration trip to Italy’s second-largest island, the beautiful Sardinia. During our stay on this charming island, we realized that it’s an ideal location for our upcoming events and we used our time spent there to explore all the possibilities for making things happen in the future.
Driving around in an old fiat 500 and exploring Costa Smeralda that is located on the northeast of Sardinia was definitely one of the best experiences we had in a while. Life here is slow-paced and everyone was so friendly to us. The great thing about staying on the Emerald Coast is that you can easily explore nearby islands like Isola Spargi, Isola Maddalena, and Caprera. Well known for its rugged granite and beautiful beaches, Isola Spargi is actually an uninhabited island, while Isola Maddalena is a part of a national park with magnificent cobbled plazas and unspoiled beaches.
We stayed at the lovely Grand Hotel Cannigione. From the lovely outdoor swimming pool and a state-of-the-art wellness center with a SPA and fitness area to the charming restaurant La Pitrizza that offers traditional Sardinian cuisine, this stylish hotel had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
There is so much to discover on Sardinia. With its rocky coastline dotted with sublime beaches, plenty of archaeological sites, and world-class museums, the island oozes charm at every turn. Costa Smeralda where we spent most of our time is a hotspot for tourism. It is home to dream-like beaches with some of the clearest waters in the entire Mediterranean. Glitzy and colorful Porto Cervo is definitely one of the must-visit places in the area. This resort village and marina for private oversized yachts rival the French Riviera in so many ways.
The rich culture and history
Sardinia is not short of amazing attractions. A visit to the seaside city of Alghero allows you to learn more about the culture and history of the island, while the seaside ruins of Nora or Tharros are an ideal destination for travelers interested in archaeology. The capital of the island, Cagliari is famed for its winding medieval streets dotted with museums, cozy bars, and restaurants. Reachable via ferry boat and through a 600 steps staircase, Neptune Caves are the most popular caves on the island and offer spectacular views over the sea and the coast. Beachgoers will want to visit the small town of Villasimius where they will find long white sand beaches with crystal clear waters.
To sum it all up, Sardinia is a great destination for both business events and leisure trips. We are really looking forward to all EVENTÔIR events that will take place on the charming island in the future.
