Book Launch Memphis Depay

EVENTÔIR was hired to assist with the organisation of Memphis Depay´s book launch “Heart of a Lion”. It was a special evening for the press and 250 invitees, including friends & family of Memphis. Our mission was to translate Memphis' life story to the venue, showing his Ghanian roots, football shirts, love for music, and more.

Memphis Depay is a professional, Dutch football player, playing for the Netherlands national team and for the French club Lyon. He was born in 1994 to a Ghanaian father and a Dutch mother.

The book “Heart of a Lion” covers many memories of his life, good ones, and bad ones. It portrays the many sides there are to Memphis Depay, being a football player and a musician. Therefore, Memphis Depay’s book launch had to be a success, to pay tribute to his triumphant accomplishments in life.

The press arrived at 6 pm; RTL Boulevard and SBS Shownieuws, among others, were present.

At the photo wall, the press took pictures from the author of the book and the attendees got the opportunity to get pictures with Memphis as well.

The colors of the book are gold and black, which is why the room decor was kept in that color scheme. We decorated the room with golden pillows, a lion statue, and flowers, all matching the theme.

In a corner, an artist was painting a lion, which many guests were observing fascinated and in awe.

When walking into the room, the first thing you could see was a photo collage, showing important moments of Memphis´ life.

At the left were eight mannequins wearing the most significant football shirts of Memphis´ football career. Behind that, vintage shirts that the football player had worn before were nicely hung out on clothing racks.

A documentary about Ghana was playing on the screen, owing to the fact that the father of Memphis Depay is Ghanaian. Every attendee was able to make a donation to the country. In return, the guest was handed an exemplar of the book.

Another interactive corner was the sharing box photo booth, it lets you take fun pictures or GIFs. Lastly, as Memphis is also a musician, we created a corner where the guests could listen to his new tracks that have not been published yet.

Memphis gave a beautiful, heartfelt speech, thanking all the special people in his life, before the party started at 10 pm. An event that will be remembered for a long time.
