"A two-day leadership gathering in Amsterdam that transformed Zurich’s research on the future of employee benefits into a dynamic, experiential dialogue centered on one defining theme: Resilience."

The Context

Translating Strategy into Experience: Zurich’s Leadership Gathering in Amsterdam

The Amsterdam edition formed part of Zurich Integrated Benefits’ broader European leadership roadshow, which also included cities such as Frankfurt and Paris.

Each event was designed to explore the future of employee benefits while maintaining a consistent narrative around key themes including personalization, wellbeing, empowerment, technological transformation and long-term workforce resilience.

While alignment with the wider European series was essential, the Amsterdam event needed to deliver a distinctive local experience that reflected both the character of the city and Zurich’s forward-thinking brand identity.

Project Brief

Zurich’s leadership team wanted the Amsterdam gathering to move beyond the structure of a traditional corporate conference.

The brief emphasized three key priorities:

  • Create an environment that reflects innovation and forward-thinking leadership
  • Encourage meaningful dialogue and peer interaction among senior stakeholders
  • Translate the concept of resilience from theory into a tangible, shared experience

Venue selection, program design and guest experience all needed to support this narrative.

Strategic Approach

Strategic Approach

EVENTÔIR designed the event experience around a narrative arc that moved from perspective to participation and ultimately to reflection, ensuring that resilience was experienced rather than simply discussed.

Key strategic decisions included:

01

Selecting unconventional venues that visually reinforced innovation and perspective

02

Designing a two-day format that balanced structured content with organic networking

03

Integrating interactive sessions to transform attendees from passive listeners into contributors

04

Embedding experiential elements that subtly reinforced the theme of resilience throughout the guest journey

LuminAir Amsterdam

Welcome Evening — Setting the Tone

The experience began with an exclusive welcome evening at LuminAir Amsterdam, offering panoramic views of the Amsterdam skyline.

A five-course walking dinner created an open and fluid environment that encouraged spontaneous conversations and early relationship building among participants. Elevated above the city, the venue immediately positioned the event as distinctive and forward-looking.

Leadership Conference — Resilience in Dialogue

The main conference took place at A’DAM Tower, chosen for its contemporary architecture and unconventional event space.

The program featured focused plenary sessions supported by integrated stage production and subtle branding elements designed to enhance, rather than dominate, the content.

A central highlight of the day was an interactive resilience workshop led by Salmaan Sana. Through guided dialogue, paired conversations and reflective exercises, participants explored concepts such as antifragility and adaptive leadership.

Rather than a traditional keynote, the session created a collaborative environment where attendees actively shaped the conversation.

Evening Experience — Perspective & Connection

As the conference concluded, guests moved to the panoramic venue above the sixteenth floor of A’DAM Tower, symbolically elevating the experience from strategic discussion to broader perspective.

The evening featured a refined six-course walking dinner designed to balance culinary experience with networking.

Experiential elements included:

  • Interactive entertainment by David Nathan
  • A 360° video booth capturing guest reflections and future outlooks
  • Atmospheric lighting and elegant styling that enhanced the venue’s panoramic views
